Helping out at The Felix Project

This month at Mr Organic several members of the team headed to our friends at The Felix Project to spend their Saturday helping build palettes of food donations to be sent to different charities within London.

The Felix Charity was set up in 2016 to help tackle the food poverty in London. They state that 1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, 400,000 children are at risk of missing the next meal. Meanwhile, our food industry generates almost 2 million tonnes of good, edible surplus food each year. With all this surplus food, Felix knew he could help make a difference. By collecting food donations from companies such as ourselves, they are able to redistribute food surplus to those in need.

Here’s a few pictures from our visit. The team headed to Enfield where the warehouse is based to spend some time helping pack boxes and build palettes to give back a little. We all had a fantastic time this month, working as a group to stack boxes and playing with giant cling film. Fiona, our Finance Manger particularly enjoyed her new high vis vest and was sad to take it off at the end of her visit. The whole time the team were laughing and smiling and have since decided that we will be making a visit every other month to ensure we can help out when we can. At Mr Organic we always try our best to be thankful and live positive!
